I just got back from Asilomar - March 2013. This year I decided to retake Esterita Austin's (see esteritaaustin.com) class to learn how to use her mottled hand dyed fabrics (created by Carlene Keller - email to carlenekeller@mac.com) and how to paint these portraits after you have selected all the pieces. I learned a great deal - as you can see if you compare it to my Asilomar 2012 portrait. Ugh! This year I decided to try to make a portrait of my husband Mark.
