Circle Quilt

jane art Circle Quilts

In January 2014 I bought a chair!  A very comfortable LaZboy recliner!  It doesn’t look like a recliner, it just looks like an ordinary chair.  The problem is that it only came in a print fabric.  I usually get a solid color.  So, the only print that went with my house was an unusual one... in a taupe and white pattern.  Then, the problem naturally arises, that I need to make a matching quilt for the livingroom wall!  After gathering a bunch of like fabrics, I began to make a simple circle quilt.  I LOVE circles!   I have a circle dining room fixture, that looks like the moon, and a vase on the floor that is round and has a hole in it!  It was actually the inspiration for this quilt.  I also like a more formal sparkly living area with mirrored frames on the mantle and beaded quilts.  So I had to bead a lot of the quilt so that it would shimmer under the evening lights!  Below is a photograph of the inspirational white vase (next to the fireplace), the chair along with the store fabric sample (which shows the true color of the chair fabric) with some of the fabrics I used, and a few close-ups of the quilt showing some of the beading.

AND below the photos of the Quilt, are photos of the matching iPad Pillow I made to go with the chair!

My Matching iPad Pillow

Have you ever wanted to watch something on your iPad while sitting or reclining in a chair?  Or research something online, shop online, or just read a e-book?  It is horrible trying to hold the iPad up the whole time.  Most of the iPad cases with a stand of some sort, including the folding or trifolding ones, are made for table tops and don’t work in this situation.   So I made a iPad pillow!  It is 10.5” x 16” and I used the same fabrics and design idea as the Circle Quilt, only on a smaller scale.   I use my iPad sitting in my new chair in the living room!  I couldn’t bead the pillow, though, since it would interfere with easily moving it around behind the iPad to get the appropriate angle on the screen as well as scratch up my iPad cover.  I love it!

What DID I do before the iPad?  I can’t remember.  I use it constantly!   And, I distinctly remember saying to my husband when he gave the iPad to me, “What am I going to do with this?”
